Elevator Service Troubleshooting Technician
Test newly installed equipment to ensure that it meets specifications. Locate malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, & signal & control systems, using test equipment. Ensure safety regulations & building codes are met, complete service reports verifying conformance to standards. Adjust safety controls, counter weights, door mechanisms, & components such as valves, ratchets, seals, & brake linings. Inspect wiring connections, control panel hookups, door installations, & alignments & clearances of cars & hoist ways. Maintain detailed log books. Operate elevators to determine power demands, & test power consumption to detect overload factors. Ability to make decisions & solve problems. Use information & judgment to determine that processes comply with lasw, regulations, & standards. Perform safety inspections.
Requires18 month experience elevator mechanic/service technician/related.
Requires knowledge & experience with traction, gear-less & geared elevator units as well as machine room-less elevators, Schindler & Otis equipment. May require day-to-day travel to elevator installation locations in Ohio, including Twinsburg, Toledo, Columbus, Akron, Cleveland, Canton & surrounding areas.
